SONG DONG, WRITING TIME WITH WATER

MONDAY, OCTOBER 17, 12 -1 PM

(MILITARY ISLAND AT BROADWAY AND 44TH STREET)

Creative Time and Times Square Alliance present Writing Time with Water,

a special performance by Chinese artist Song Dong. For one hour, in the

center of Times Square, Song Dong will continuously record the time

using water and brush to paint directly onto the concrete surface that

surrounds him. Within this frenetic setting, Song Dong’s modest gesture

compels us to focus on the present by exposing our unthinking

consumption of time.

Writing Time with Water is presented in conjunction with Song Dong’s

video on The 59th Minute.
