To Know

The right half of our brain
is non-verbal.
Its language is symbolic,
and visual.
It is the home
of our imagination.

The left half is
analytical,
verbal,
the center of linguistic expression.

They have difficulties
in understanding each other,
which partly explains
why art can seldom be verbalized.

The Greeks called
art and the work of art “techne”,
which also includes the meaning
“knowledge”.
Art was art not because it was produced
but because through it
something becomes visible.
