Untitled [Small Corn Crib, South elevation, West central Iowa], 2006, Matt Niebuhr
One in a series entitled Portraits: Faces and Profiles of Utility
Small structure discovered just west and a little north of Yale, Iowa. On a drive back to Northwest Iowa to visit parents. This crib has a companion barn just to the left of this image. To lonesome structures on a small patch of grass, not yet converted to crop land.
A family live here once.
(side note – the lighting was “perfect” for what I was interested in. The overcast, yet high thin clouds seem to provide the most soft and even lighting – not harsh direct sun. I think this sort of lighting has more “atmosphere”)
