Ingersoll Avenue is an interesting cross section. There is a sense of economic diversity, aspirations to be up and coming in the neighborhood, yet holding strong to a sense of place that can only develop over a very long span of time and from a wide range of backgrounds. There is a mix of time here represented along this street which seems to me to be one of the few truly “urban” settings in Des Moines, at least fitting the terms I feel are Midwestern urban. Great street.
